Basketball Stars turns a full basketball showdown into a compact burst of action. Instead of spending an entire game waiting for momentum to build, you get roughly one minute to create your advantage, protect it, and finish the match.
Move: A / D or Left / Right Arrow
Jump: W or Up Arrow
Block: S or Down Arrow
Shoot / Steal: B or L
Super Shot: V or K
Dash: Double-tap A/D or Double-tap Left/Right
Don't worry about complicated tactics when you first start.
Move first. Learn how quickly your character changes direction and how far a dash carries you.
Then practice shooting. Try to approach the basket instead of immediately attempting difficult shots.
Next, learn defense. Once the opponent gets the ball, stay close enough to challenge their attack without constantly jumping or moving past them.
Finally, experiment with special abilities. Once you understand the normal rhythm of a possession, special moves become much easier to use effectively.
Start with movement, shooting, and basic defense. Once those feel comfortable, learn dashing, blocking, stealing, and special abilities.
The game is designed around very short matches, with the commonly described format lasting about one minute.
Don't press the block action randomly. Watch the opponent's movement and try to recognize the moment they commit to a jump shot.
If you're overwhelmed during your first few matches, remember three things:
Create space. Protect the ball. Defend immediately.
